We have the capacity to help other good causes in our local area by giving them a computer system to help with their great work in our communities. The Great Christmas Giveaway is just one part of that.
This years worthy recipients include:
WAKEFIELD ABLE2 CLUBS
Able2 @ St Josephs is based at the former church on Santingley Lane in Crofton and is an organisation that offers social, sporting and liesure opportunities to people with physical disabilities. The centre acts a a one-stop-shop for information regarding the living needs of those people.
FRIENDS OF ALTOFTS LIBRARY
FOAL is a community group forming part of ACSF LTD. Following the closure of Altofts Library in 2013 they operate a book swap scheme in the concert room at The Brig. This has now become a focal point of the community. They have organised slide shows, craft fayres, seminars and raised money for charity.

FRIENDS OF PEASE PARK
Pease Park is an area on Grove Road south Pontefract given for the people of Pontefract by the Pease family. The group was formed in 2010 to promote this green area they have with help of grants installed a children's play area, a meadow area and numerous seats. They hold annual galas and next year they are hoping to do an event each summer month.
WAKEFIELD & FIVETOWNS RECOVERY COLLEGE
The college is open to anyone over the age of 18, with a particular aim at engaging those with mental health conditions. We encourage friends, family, carers, staff and members of the public with an interest to also attend. We aim to provide students with the tools to manage their own health and wellbeing, helping them on their recovery journey.
THE UCAN CENTRE
The Centre is a not for profit organisation that works with secondary schools in the Wakefield district. Schools refer students who have become disengaged from school due to personal or behavioural problems. They offer a host of alternative education plans such as hair & beauty, construction, motor-cross, childcare and health & well being.
We have 25 refurbished computers with monitors, keyboards and mice, loaded with Window7, OpenOffice and one years free Bullguard internet security to give away free of charge to local good causes before Christmas.
We would like you to nominate good causes anywhere in the Wakefield Met area for us to donate them to. This can be individuals in exceptional circumstances, a social enterprise, local charity, your local Scouts, Cubs, Guides, or your local neighbourhood group, etc. Email us and tell us about them.
